In search of leprechauns in the woods Echirolles

beech courage
There is a little over a year we Anne advised the book "The elves and hidden rocks" where you can find 4 walks very original ideas to do with children. We have (finally) enjoyed the holiday of All Saints to test a proposed hikes.

We chose to walk the woods Echirolles. She was listed as easy and lasted two hours. We started with a little girl 5 years old, a boy of 3 years (Which quickly gets tired of walking) and a well-behaved baby in his baby carrier. It was actually a very easy hike, just tiring. Everyone came through without a hitch. There is one passage more difficult in the descent at the end. We must plan well and good shoes give out to kids. We have only 1:30 to return to our starting point. I think the time given is very broad and allows for activities to do along the way.

As we left a bit rushed I did not take the time to read the introduction to children the book on leprechauns. But I would think to do next time to get into the mood a little "magic" of the book. By their cons I had explained that the purpose of the trip was to find a secret stone and this idea really liked them. We walked up the book in hand. Throughout the walk we had to find remarkable trees or places frequented by the old sprites. Every 5 or 10 minutes they stopped, I was reading them the stories contained in the book and directions to continue the ride. We have not done all the activities listed in the book (the time did not lend itself) but we have identified almost all places indicated. And then the big moment: the children have found the secret stone. I can tell you they were really excited. Each of the walks leading to a stone and when we found the 4 stones can send the solution to the mystery authors of books that send a small gift. We therefore looked forward to the next sunny day to make another trip and complete our puzzle.
we found the secret stone

This walk is worth it if only to show that the Beech courage ", a huge tree and really beautiful to do in summer because the trail is heavily shaded or the season of chestnuts as your steps will lead you to a chestnut.
